Saw this on my way home this evening. (Taken with instagram)
I did some shopping online last night. Here is what I bought. I typically
wear black shoes, black socks, black pants, a solid colored polo, and a
black jacket; this much color is a huge departure from my typical uniform.
I’m still looking for a nice pair of loafers to complete the look. Leave
suggestions in the comments.
Why I Resigned Today
I started working at Drexel University professionally back in the summer of 2001. That makes 11 years this summer. I was a student for five years before that from 1993 to 1998. Suffice it to say, I have spent a significant portion of my life at the university. Over the years I have held three positions, occupied seven different offices, and served on numerous committees and subcommittees. So, it was with a heavy heart that… I didn’t resign today. April fools! Perhaps the joke’s on me.

RT: I killed myself this weekend.
A morbid thought, I know. Don’t worry. I didn’t kill myself. I swear. I didn’t even think about it. This story isn’t about me. It’s about a friend. And it’s meant to provoke discussion.
A colleague messaged me on Friday:
Hey dude. You’ll never believe the shit that happened to me on sunday night.
He was right. My instincts couldn’t have been more wrong.
Mission (Actually) Accomplished

I’ve successfully completed another New Year’s resolution!
My first resolution was to reach my goal weight of 168 pounds; for those of you who follow me on Facebook, I noted reaching that goal last month.
My announcement today though is especially noteworthy: I haven’t consumed an alcoholic beverage in 100 days.
There were a handful of days at most when I really wanted to down a bottle of scotch, my former weapon of choice. But, all in all, there was no epic struggle. No battle between good and evil.
Mostly, I was playing Skyrim, reading The Economist, and drinking lots of coffee, tea, and fruit juice.
Now, on to my final resolution for the year: French fluency. This will take some time. But, I’m confident that I can reach this goal as I have my other two.
Marriage is a right, not a privilege. Every loving couple adds value to its sanctity. Every wife beater, misogynist, cheating scumbag, and divorce chips away at it. Last I checked, heterosexuals were doing a good enough job of that all by themselves. (Taken with instagram)
